LCHS Personal Finance and Career Exploration Classes Experience the 💲On My Own - Real Life Simulation💲
Personal Finance and Career Exploration classes at LCHS recently had an exciting opportunity to participate in the engaging 💲On My Own - Real Life Simulation💲! This interactive financial education experience allows students to step into the shoes of adults who are responsible for providing the main income for their households.
Participants embraced the challenge by selecting a hypothetical occupation and income, then navigating through a month filled with essential household expenses such as housing, utilities, transportation, insurance, food, childcare, clothing, entertainment, and surprise costs. They also faced chance cards that introduced unexpected financial scenarios, mimicking real-life situations. At the end of the simulation, students reflected on their choices and explored alternative options.

Lincoln County High School Mock Interview Event: A Day of Development and Possibilities
Community and industry leaders participated in Lincoln County High School's annual Mock Interview Event, engaging with senior students from the Government and Economics classes. This program provides students with an excellent opportunity to practice their interview skills while receiving valuable feedback from local professionals in various industries.
Community leaders collaborated with students, delivering important insights to boost their interviewing skills. This experiential learning is crucial as students prepare for their transition into the workforce.
The reactions from both volunteers and students were overwhelmingly encouraging. Students left the event feeling uplifted and excited about their experiences, while community leaders conveyed their enthusiasm with comments such as:
“I was ready to hire him within the first five minutes of the interview!”
"Truly impressive!"
“We can't wait to bring her on board for our internship program!”
“This student would be a fantastic addition to any team, in any position!”
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who generously invested their time in shaping our students' futures.
