Principal's Message

Dear Senior Parents,
As we wind down the school year, I wanted to share dates of Senior events that will be taking place. It is a very special time for our students and their families and we hope that Graduation activities at LCHS are conducted in a professional and respectful manner.

The following is LCHS Graduation, Awards Day, Walk the Halls, and Baccalaureate Information and information regarding the required student dress code for all events.


May 8- Awards Day and Baccalaureate Practice- 4th Block- All Seniors here for practice including students who leave early. Seniors will report to 4th block for attendance and then will be called to the gym for practice. If you do not have a 4th block class please report to the gym. You do not have to wear your Cap and Gown to practice


We will Walk the Halls and have Awards Day on the same day this year. Students will dress in graduation attire except the guys do not have to wear a tie for this day. See the Dress Code Below for All Graduation Events.


May 9- Cap and Gown Walk and Awards Day- Be on Time to school. Bring your Cap and Gown for the Walk and Awards Day.

The buses will depart at 8:15 AM and return approximately 10 AM.  Awards Day is immediately when we return to LCHS with an approximate start time as 10:15 AM.


Awards Day Attire- Caps and Gowns will be worn and be in Graduation Attire under your cap and gown. Ladies remember you are wearing a white gown.


The buses will unload at the back of the gym and ALL seniors will participate in Awards Day. After Awards Day concludes, seniors will be dismissed for the remainder of the day.


Parents are invited to attend Awards Day.


Baccalaureate- Sunday, May 12    2 PM Gym   Mother’s Day!!

Seniors will report to the Commons Area by 1:30 PM. Please enter the building on the south side doors near the chorus room.


Parents will enter through the rear gym doors. It is not mandatory to attend but would be nice to see everyone.


Baccalaureate Dress Code is the same as Graduation and Awards Day and is explained below.


Senior Breakfast- Friday, May 17   8 AM gymnasium followed by the slide show. The breakfast is for senior students.


Parents are welcome to attend the slide show at 8:45 in the gymnasium.


Graduation Practice- Friday, May 17   following breakfast. Mandatory- Students must attend practice to participate in Graduation.


Graduation- Friday, May 17   7:30 PM Thompson-Meadows Stadium. Report to the gym at 6:15 PM.


In the event of rain, the ceremony may be moved into the gym. We will do all in our power to have Graduation outside including moving the time up or back if weather becomes a factor.


Dress Code for Graduation, Awards Day and Baccalaureate


Gentlemen- Dark dress pants or Khaki pants, Dress shoes, Tie- Preferably Red or Navy Blue, White button down shirt (sleeve length optional) and graduation gown and cap. Boots are not preferred but if they are dress boots or clean boots it will be ok.


Ladies- Dresses should be white or light colored, light colored dress shoes. Graduation gowns and cap. Please make sure you do not wear too big of a heel. You will be walking on grass and they your heel will sink into the dirt. No boots


Both ladies and gentlemen


Cap and Gowns are not to be decorated in any way. If a Cap or Gown is decorated, the student will not participate in the


Graduation Program. Do not mark, write, draw, or paste anything to your Cap and Gowns.


No flip flops, causal style flip flops, tennis shoes, work boots, house shoes, blue jeans, or pajamas.


If you have any trouble getting any of these items, please contact Mrs. Harrison as soon as possible.


If you do not meet the dress code for the events, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremonies.
